I’ve just bought a new storage for my computer lately. The old storage was bought more than a year ago. It is 250GB in capacity and has been full for months. So that I was planning to buy a new one to solve this capacity issue.

I decided to buy this one. Seagate 1,5 TB which is a huge storage compared to the old one. If 250GB can stand for more than a year. I expect the new one will stand for at least 3 years.

It was about 135 USD (with 1 USD = 9200 rupiah). I think this a very good price since the price per GB is less than 10 cents.

Here is some benchmark it took.

The benchmark when the disk is completely empty

The benchmark when the disk is used as system disk.

Just for comparison. The benchmark of the old harddisk.

The benchmark is taken in my system. Here is the specification of my system.

Here is the photo of the new harddisk

The upper one is the new one and the lower one is the older one.

The new harddisk is thicker and noisier than the old one. When the harddisk is seeking data it sounds quite loud. Compared to the old one, which is giving no sound, this harddisk is noisy.

Compared to the old one. I should have a better experience with this new harddisk because of the benchmark result. But until now I haven’t done some test on gaming or rendering or anything else. One sure thing is that this new harddisk is faster than the old one, I’ve done several personal test on this disk and found that this harddisk transfer rate is very good. Unfortunately I have no data to display.

My last words, nice harddisk, nice capacity, nice transfer rate, bad acoustic, unknown durability (because of the noisy sound, I afraid that it may cause damage to the disk).
